Taking place this Saturday June 8th Atlas Jiu Jitsu will be holding a free seminar with Fred Isozaki and BBQ in the Hudson New York location (364 Warren Street). Here is a quote from the event:

The seminar will be GI from 12-2 after will be open mat/BBQ from 2-whenever. Everybody please bring something to contribute to BBQ!!

Just a side note June 8th is Hudson’s Elk’s Flag Day parade and event so after the seminar as you seen above there will be open mat as well as a BBQ and all you have to do to attend the BBQ is bring something to contribute. Atlas Jiu Jitsu is right on the parade route, so while you are there you will have a prime viewing location of Hudson’s big parade. For every ticket Matt sells to Cage Wars 20 (he will be fighting on the card on Cage Wars 20 card as well) 20% of those sales will go to The Childrens Hospital at Albany Medical Center. Cage Wars is going big for Cage Wars 20 as they will be marking their 20th card anniversary this month and they plan on bringing us some great fights and with that said they are still looking for amateur MMA fighters to add to the card.

Tigon Academy has been making big waves lately not only in the cage with amateur MMA fighters, but being proactive for the sport that New York State just doesn’t get, Mixed Martial Arts. Below we have added the video from WTEN’s broadcast for you to take a look at, but first a segment from their article.

Watervliet, N.Y. – At Tigon Academy Monday, two amateur MMA fighters were gearing up for a fight coming up in Albany, but they won’t be paid and they can’t fight on the professional level. A woman who trains at the academy shared how the sport has helped her and why she believes it should be legal.

“I use to get harassed by a couple people not just men also women I wasn’t the most popular person growing up,” said Aleena Gilani of Latham.
