Cage Wars 22 Cancelled

Cage Wars 22 Logo

You probably have already heard or read on Facebook that Cage Wars 22 has been cancelled. Now we understand things happen and circumstances change but if you commit to a fight you should be held responsible for canceling. People will say well you aren’t fighters and it’s wrong for us to say that, but it’s not wrong. We take a lot of time to get ready ourselves for fight night, no we don’t train for months on end, but the fighters do and to have fights cancelled because you weren’t a man of your word is just despicable. Let me just say that may not be the case because we have not received official word from Cage Wars and all we know is what you do from their Facebook post. For those fighters that have been in their respective gyms and schools training non-stop our hats off to you and you are the one’s that make this sport larger than life in New York State, for those that backed out shame on you and I hope you at least had a good excuse as to why, because we know life throws curve balls now and again.

Now the post from Cage Wars Facebook page from Shannon Miller President of Cage Wars NY:

It is with sadness that we have to announce that cage wars 22 scheduled for

September 7th has to be cancelled. Due to a number of bouts falling out in the

last few days and no suitable opponents being found we had to cancel the show.

What we never would do is put on a sub par show or one below what our fans have

come to expect from Cage Wars. I want to apologize first to the fighters that

were scheduled to be on our show. Personally I understand the deep letdown when

a fight gets cancelled. I’m aware of the huge sacrifice and work it takes

leading up to the fight only to not have a fight. Through the course of my fight

career this has happened to me on a number of occasions and it is not easy.

Secondly I want to apologize to the fans who were looking forward to this event.

I can assure everyone that our team did everything we could to fix the problems

that arose. This being our 22nd show we have come across issues before that we

could address. This time it was too steep a hurdle. Nobody likes canceling a

show but at times It happens at the highest level, including the UFC. Anyone who

has purchased tickets can get them refunded from their point of purchase. With

this being said we now look forward to a super card on October 12 that will

feature a number of title fights including the rematch of Joe Bagley and Dave

Brock for the Cage wars heavyweight title. Again, our apologies and continued

thankfulness for your support and backing as we continue to look to put on the

best events in NYS.
